My Tasty Breakfast In The Lufthansa First Class Lounge

It’s nice to see the Lufthansa First Class Lounge in Frankfurt once again serving food and drink. I had breakfast here prior to a flight earlier this week and enjoyed a very tasty breakfast.

Lufthansa First Class Lounge Breakfast

Regular readers know that I like to order the filet mignon for breakfast whenever I am in a Lufthansa First Class Lounge. Alas, the filet is a casualty of COVID-19, though I am told it “hopefully” will come back “soon.”

In the meantime, a more limited menu offers breakfast, lunch, and dinner options while dining in the lounge.

The buffet is gone:

But thankfully cappuccinos and freshly squeezed orange juice are still available.

I chose a bowl of fresh fruit and a croissant to start. The fruit bowl included strawberries, honeydew melon, cantaloupe, watermelon, pineapple, and raspberries. Everything was sweet and the croissant served warm and flaky.

For my main course, I chose poached eggs on toasted brown bread with avocados. It was light and hit the spot nicely with the poached eggs perfectly runny. The avocado spread had cranberries, dollops of sour cream, and a garnish of micro greens.

CONCLUSION

It is heartening to see life slowly return to normal across Europe. After seven months of not being allowed to serve food and drink inside their lounges, even this limited menu is a huge step in the right direction. Here’s to hoping I’ll soon be able to have a filet mignon for breakfast once again.

What are the mask rules in the lounge? Do you need to keep it on between sips and bites (Cali style) or can it be removed for the duration of the dining experience?

It does not have to be work between bites.

I think you’d be hard-pressed to find this level of catering in most business class lounges.

Went through Frankfurt yesterday and used the LH business lounge. Sure was nice to have food and beverage service. You do have to show a negative COVID test or a vaccination certificate to get in. Many like myself sat without a mask, unless I went up for food,

Thanks for the report, I’ll be there in a few weeks. Did you hear anything about whether the FCL B will be open soon?
