Woman Attacks Five Spirit Airlines Employees In Anger Over Baggage Fee, Then Coughs On Cops While Claiming She Has COVID-19

Yesterday wasn’t a good day for Emmari Jackson. Angered by an unexpected fee for her carry-on bag, the 21-year-old launched a full-scale attack on a cadre of Spirit Airlines staff, at one point even striking a supervisor with a metal dustpan. Police were called in, but Jackson coughed on them while claiming she had COVID-19.

Unexpected Carry-on Fee Prompts Full-Scale Attack Against Sprit Airlines Staff

I think the UK DailyMail does a much better job in its headline explaining what happened than I can do:

a close up of a text

But I’ll still try to take the emotion out of it. Here’s what happened:

  • Emmari Jackson attempted to board her Spirit Airlines flight in Orlando (MCO) and was told that her carry-on bag was too big to be placed under her seat and she would need to pay $65 to store it in the overhead bin.
  • She became irate and was told that due to her poor behavior, she would not be allowed to travel.
  • This made her even more irate.
  • She responded by throwing a bag of shoes from her carry-on items at the agent behind the counter.
  • Next, she reached over the counter to hit another agent.
  • Then, she punched another agent in the head.
  • A supervisor attempted to call the police, but Jackson ran over and punched the supervisor repeatedly in the back of the head.
  • Another person tried to pull Jackson off, but Jackson attacked him by kicking him in the head.
  • Jackson then grabbed a metal dustpan from a nearby custodial cart and began attacking him.
  • Police finally showed up and Jackson was taken to jail.
  • There, she attacked a corrections officer and coughed on others, telling them she had COVID-19.
  • She is now being charged with battery and remains in an Orange County jail.

CONCLUSION

Rather than speculate if there were drugs or alcohol fueling this rage, let’s just leave it at the facts above…my goodness what a fact pattern. It appears no Spirit employees were seriously injured, though Jackson still faces a stiff sentence for her conduct. Janitors at Orlando Airport better start securing the dustpans…

Thanks for reporting (re-posting) this. Sadly, there was no mention of it on CNN, NYT, MSNBC, etc….Had “Karen” thrown tantrum like this we would have another round of “peaceful protests”….Just sayin’….

These cheap and nasty airlines are hopeless when it comes to diffusing situations like this. But this passenger deserves to go to prison for quite a while…

$65 is a lot of money, no wonder she was upset! It doesn’t justify her actions though.

There is no way of verifying that you are Indian or of the Hindu faith. One tactic for people, usually white supremacists, is to get online and pretend they are from a marginalized group. This way, their views can’t be called out as ‘racist’, because look, they are from a marginalized group!

So yeah, nice try anyway, “Anil”.

My parents came to this country after the partition and we love the US and have worked hard to create a life for ouselves, which is far more than most are willing to do like this thug in Orlando. You are a sick person. Go back to your mother’s basement, wrap yourself in a cloak of self-righteousness, and jack off in it.

What did she hope for? Hit someone with a bag of shoes and dustpan then the employee would say “good news, your bag is free, good day!”

I once was starting to book with Spirit and saw all the fees so didn’t complete the reservation

OMAAT has become so PC it is nauseating. The only way we work toward equal rights is by treating people equally. There will never be equal oucomes. I had no advantages in life due to my skin color but I worked harder and harder. And I also had a father in my home who loved me and raised me to be a respectful and law-abiding citizen.

George Floyd, though a counterfeiter, is a sad story. Rayshard Brooks, however, is nuts. He was acting so good then suddenly becomes crazy and is winning in a fight against two police officers. While his lawyer can argue the shooting is not justified, his escalation of a calm situation was so bad it shows he was nuts.

If the system is rigged against you, it’s a bit hard to be treated equally. But you are right, people should be treated equally, and hopefully that will happen one day in America and the rest of the world.

Her behavior is unacceptable and criminal.

The only issue I am concerned with is a potential charge for coughing on an officer (battery). Coughing can’t be necessarily controlled and it can’t be proven she intended to cough. Saying she thinks she has coronavirus or has coronavirus in itself is not a crime. It’s a very slippery slope. Jailers often abuse those arrested and jails have unconscionable conditions, so I understand if she defend herself against officers in a jail setting. Nonetheless, he conduct with the spirit staff was criminal.

Charging or not fees according the skin’ s color is 100% racist. Doesn’t matter who is charged and who is not.You don’t want to stop racism’s you just want to switch victims of it.
