SWISS Alpine Lounge In Zurich Is Delectable

Matthew Klint Posted onFebruary 22, 2023November 13, 2023 12 Comments

This week I’m “liveblogging” my trip to Ukraine. Unlike traditional reports, these posts will be shorter and more frequent.

The SWISS Alpine Lounge in Zurich is not only a chic lounge, but offers delicious food all day long.

SWISS Alpine Lounge ZRH: Culinary Excellence

This lounge is located in Terminal 1, Concourse A at ZRH at the site of a former first class lounge. Unlike the bustling SWISS lounges on the other side of the terminal, this lounge never seems to get too crowded (access is reserved for Star Alliance Gold passengers and Lufthansa Group business class passengers).

I love the decor so much…such a beautiful space with the woodwork and minimalist design.

But what I loved even more than the decor was the food. Such delicious food.

I spent several hours here and enjoyed both breakfast and lunch. For breakfast, I had a frittata with Alpine cheese, tomatoes, mushrooms, and chives. It is placed in a beautiful oven and came out perfect…the sort of egg dish that has the ideal balance of flavors, temperature, and texture.

Before boarding my afternoon flight to Warsaw, I had lunch: a fresh salad with leafy lettuce, beets, red cabbage, and a perfect vinaigrette dressing, a bowl of truffled celery cream soup, and mouthwatering spinach cannelloni made-to-order in the same oven as the frittatas.

What perfect meals. Even the machine-dispensed coffee was excellent.

Fueled for the day, I was ready to proceed onboard my flight to Warsaw and then on to Ukraine.

This is a lounge worth stopping for.

Maybe send those pictures to Kirby so he can see what decent food looks like?

That Frittata looks fire, and so is the interior design of that area, feels like it would be a cozy area to sleep if they have nap zones (do they have nap zones?)

No nap zones in this lounge like the E Gates lounge.

Just for clarity, this is accessible to *G on all Star flights, and J pax on all LH group flights? Sounds like it’s not a typical Senator or Business lounge.

    Dear Mr Matthew Klint,

Thank you so much indeed for your highlight comments of Swiss Alpine Lounge at Zurich Airport Switzerland.

I really remember you and we we`re talking about this Swiss Alpine Lounge, it was
FIRST CLASS LOUNGE 2010 as far as i can remember.

I cooked your breakfast food … Frittata and your Lunch food Canneloni and Toppings.
You tooked me a picture and you ask for a smile.

Well, Alpine Lounge at Zuerich Airport Switzerland for me it is very special Lounge indeed.

There are also little rooms which is only 1 person can get inside, and you can talk/work about Business or Private matters.

There are some Sofas behind where you can relax for a while, while you are waiting for your flight.

The most wonderful is…. infront of the huge Oven where we cooked the food… there are some Tables where you can enjoy the food and the View is so wonderful to see the diff. kinds of Airlines …. DEPARTING FLIGHTS and LANDING flights.
You can also see the Terminal Docking E … where the Airlines boarding and landing.

Mr Matthew Klint, thank you so much indeed for your HIGHTLIGHT COMMENTS.

WE ALPINE LOUNGE TEAM VERY THANKFUL AND HIGHLY APPRECIATED.

WE ARE LOOKING FORWARD TO SERVE YOU AGAIN.

    Thank you so much indeed

    Daisy L.

Thank you, Matthew, for letting me know about this lounge. I spent 3 blissful hours there during a transit in mid-November and it was one of the most relaxing lounges I have visited in a long time. Not crowded at all, great food, and very comfortable sofas in the back.
