Just in time for summer, United Airlines will add illy cold brew coffee onboard all flights starting next month.
illy Cold Brew Onboard Coming Soon To United Airlines
A flight attendant shared the following brief memo with me:
Starting July 1, illy Cold Brew will be offered in all cabins systemwide, either for purchase in economy cabins or as a complimentary beverage in premium cabins (Polaris/United Premium Plus).
That’s it…we don’t know yet what variety will be served onboard (my guess is classico), but we have a clue in that United already offers Cold Brew in select United Clubs (like at C123 in Newark or the Club Fly grab-and-go lounge in Denver):
New York LGA even has several varieties available:
During the pandemic, it also offered illy clasisco cold brew in cans at select United Clubs, though I have not seen those recently.
Alaska Airlines recently added Stumptown onboard its flights, but only hot coffee, not cold brew (even though Stumptown makes an excellent cold brew).
In 2022, Delta Air Lines introduced cold brew from Explorer Cold Brew Company to its onboard beverage menu, but my understanding is that this beverage is no longer available on Delta
CONCLUSION
United will add illy cold brew coffee onboard starting in July 2024. Even better, it appears United will stock the “Classico” variety with no sugar added, which makes it a bit more platable for me (nothing ruins coffee like added sugar…).
Sweet stuff is ICKY .
Creamy AND sweet stuff is Double-ICKY .
And Hot coffee in a moving , vibrating tube , is Dangerous with a capital D .
Champagne , beer , and wine are my only food groups on airplanes .
Like the old fashioned mix, There will be a whopping 2 cans on every flight
The illy plain cold brew has zero sugar….drink it daily
I hope UA stocks this!
If you’re reading, UA…please!
I think you’re confused. This drink is meant for the hardworking crew to go with their Biscoffs.
Only Americans would drink this ****
