When Will United’s LAX Polaris Lounge Open?

Matthew Klint Posted onNovember 30, 2018November 14, 2023 6 Comments

United’s Polaris Lounge at LAX has still not opened…but it won’t be long.

United’s Polaris Lounge at LAX has been delayed by more than a year. Set to open late in 2017, it has yet to open. In fact, the online Polaris Lounge tracker still predicts an opening of Autumn 2018:

But December is upon us, leaving very little time to meet that deadline.

While at LAX yesterday, I noticed progress is being made. The faux marble entrance is close to completion:

Looking up to the rotunda, it appears the lounge will be larger than the old International First Class Lounge (turned United Club) that previously occupied the space.

I chatted with a couple agents in the United Club prior to my flight and they indicated that the lounge would open before the end of the month.

But when I reached out to United to see if an official date was around the corner, I was told:

We have not announced the LAX Polaris lounge opening yet – it’s soon though.

CONCLUSION

An update without an update. But since the lounge was supposed to open in “Fall 2018” I thought an update was due. Hopefully it won’t be much longer now…

Polaris tracker and your screenshot both say Fall 2018.

As related to your opening lines. It’s correct in your closing, though.

What I meant to say is that it was supposed to open in 2017, but has been pushed to Autumn 2018. Now it looks like it may be winter.

Winter starts on December 21, so they still have 3 weeks left.

The agent I spoke with at the LAX lounge said it would be the last week of December. Not exactly Autumn if you’re going by exact season dates but does still hit 2018.
