Good news for LAX and SFO-based flyers. With Virgin America entering the MCO and YYZ market, you may soon see some great deals to those destinations. MCO fares are usually reasonable, but YYZ fares are often over $500 r/t from SFO or LAX.
One way fares from LAX to MCO will begin at $149 and $199 from SFO. Not great, but reasonable, especially during the peak summer travel period to Disneyworld. It will be interesting to see if a price war is set-off between UA, DL, AA, and VX–similar to what happened when Virgin began flying between LAX to SFO. The new YYZ routes are pending DOT approval and no introductory prices have been announced yet.
The carrier, which plans to increase its fleet size by 1/3 by 2011, offers complimentary satellite TV, power outlets, and wi-fi on all flights–a great way to distinguish itslef from the compeititon.
