$320 Discount from Alitalia = Free Flights Within Europe!

Matthew Klint Posted onOctober 20, 2012December 9, 2016 3 Comments

Use coupon code PROMOJP to take $320 (¥25,000) off most Alitalia flights!

You have to:

  • Book immediately (the promotion goes till 26 October, but it will be gone by Monday…count on it)
  • Travel between 05 November and 07 March (but the December 20 – January 6 holiday travel period is blacked out)
  • Book on Alitalia’s Japan website simply enter the promotion code when proceeding to checkout in the box below and click the gray button below–

There are no routing or minimum price restrictions on this offer, so you can book many intra-Europe flights for free. In fact, you will not even have to enter your credit card info!

It is anyone’s guess whether Alitalia will honor these tickets, but this is not really a mistake–it is a valid promotion and you are not bending the terms of the offer by booking flights that do not originate in Japan. So book away. I’ve booked a number of intra-Europe flights for next year…

Use Google Chrome to translate the webpage and keep in mind this little deal has gone viral this afternoon and has been broadcast across Flyertalk, MilePoint, and much of the travel blogosphere. Consequently, the site is very sluggish (though AZ’s site is often sluggish…). Just be patient when booking and do not give up. The deal is still alive and well and I cannot imagine Alitalia plugging it up for the next several hours. I found using Chrome and Firefox worked while Safari did not.

Flights to the United States are going for under $350 to Miami and New York on select dates. Some are reporting tickets for even less, so do look around. Remember that Alitalia serves these North American gateways–

  • Boston
  • Los Angeles
  • Miami
  • Newark
  • New York JFK
  • Toronto

And finally, remember that becuase you are booking on Alitalia’s Japan site, you will be charged in Japanase Yen. Consequently, be sure to use a credit card, like the Chase Sapphire Preferred, that does not have any foreign transaction fees.

    @Matt:

    It seems that Alitalia cancelled the tickets. They did it quickly (within ~12 hours of purchase with a generic email), so it sounds reasonable to me, unfortunately. But thanks in any case for advertising the deal. Booking on the Japanese website was fun.
