A Hilarious New Airline Commercial…From Burger King

Burger King Aviation Commercial

Burger King is out with a new commercial for its French audience that is sure to the warm the heart of anyone who loves aviation.

New Aviation-Themed Commercial From Burger King

Coronavirus is on the rise again across Europe, including France. As a result, bars and some restaurants are facing closure again. As eateries like Burger King shift to a model that emphasizes takeaway and delivery, it wants to convince you that it takes your safety seriously.

Enter its latest airline-themed commercial, which starts onboard an airplane with the captain explaining we are going through a new “Covid turbulence area.” An A380 pulls up into the drive-thru line. Next a “Top Gun” team delivers food to your home. Finally, the captain jumps from an airplane, landing on his back in the parking lot…yeah, not sure what that part of the commercial is about.

The point is simple: at “Burger Klean” our employees take your safety seriously. In that sense, I think this is a memorable and effective ad.

This latest ad is actually a sequel. In July, Burger King offered another airline-themed commercial for its French audience, this one was modeled after a safety video. I actually think this one is much more funny, with moments like using a drone to construct a hamburger or warning that hand sanitizer is not ketchup.

CONCLUSION

These are cute ads. I think they make the point well that Burger King is taking safety seriously. For Americans not used to fast food in Europe, the ads are also helpful in the sense that American “fast-food” is often a dine-in experience (McDonald’s, for example, has swanky cafes in Europe that you rarely you see in the USA). This effectively reminds customers that the food can be taken away or delivered.

Meanwhile in Belgium, Burger King thinks it deserves a Michelin Star.

OMG, who still eats Burger King? They closed down their location close to my place and nobody miss them. With just a little more money you can eat way better real burgers and not that thing they sell.

Don’t get me wrong. I don’t eat Burger King either. But I do like the ad.

OMG !! Where do you live the South Pole? Would be awesome to get Burger King on a plane since airlines are too cheap to serve you much of anything, and constantly remind you that they are only there for your safety.

    HahAh!

    Don’t panicos!

Yeah it is FRED a famous former young (now older) french comedian featuring Omar and Fred on a tv show in french tv Canal + network in the past.

Omar is Omar Sy who became even more famous with The intouchables movie.

One of their humouristic show was about aviation way of speaking à la Air France, but on non aviation topics.

So the airline-themed commercial, typical from FRED (Fred Testot).

Note that Burger King is managed by Quick in France (Quick is the master franchise for France, the Quick restaurants migrates one after one to burger king).

    You couldn’t obviously get that.
Quick could not also change the “creativity” of Fred Testot (that you see in the ad).

I think the younger ones now (those between 15 and 20 years) do not know Fred.

    And now Matthew:

Pnc aux portes, armement des toboggans, contrôle de votre vis-à-vis.

Those are awesome. I like the model of the plane slamming to a stop at the restaurant 🙂

Don’t know if you can see this youtube video in your country…

Here is Fred Testot being the french voice of Dusty in the Planes movie:

Even in this ad for the movie, fred cannot avoid to say, as usual, in the first 20 seconds of the video:

Pnc aux portes, armement des toboggans, vérification de la porte opposée.

Don’t know again if you can see this youtube video in your country…

In this sketch with Omar Sy, Fred will say at the end, at 1:09 in the video:

Pnc aux portes, armement des toboggans, vérification de la porte opposée.
