Emirates has produced a new promotional video it will now show before the safety video onboard its flight, showcasing the efforts it is taking to keep aircraft lean. It’s a change of pace from the carrier’s usual appeal to luxury and comfort.
You can watch the full video below.
There’s no narration, just the subtitles below as music plays in the background:
We are working around the clock to ensure our aircraft cabins are the cleanest in the skies.
All our aircraft cabins have advanced HEPA air filters the remove 99.97% of viruses.
They eliminate dust, allergies, and germs from the cabin air, ensuring a safer and healthier onboard environment.
All our aircraft now undergo extensive deep cleaning and disinfection. From windows, armrests, tray tables, and TV screens to bassinets, lavatories, and common areas.
Every day, 248 aircraft are deep cleaned before departing Dubai.
Any aircraft with a suspected or confirmed COVID-19 case undergoes enhanced cleaning protocols, lasting up to 8 hours. Cabins are defogged and misted with special disinfectant. We also replace the aircraft’s HEPA cabin filters.
Your onboard comfort matters most to us. Sit back, relax, and enjoy your flight.
It’s an effective ad in that it shows Emirates is committed to cabin cleanliness and is taking extra steps to ensure cabins are as clean as possible.
But those last two words are key. Even the best HEPA filter and clean cabins cannot protect others against a sick passenger onboard, who’s sneezes, coughing, and sniffles can quickly infect those around him.
That’s not to say Emirates actions are not helpful. Rather, it is to point out that your true threat is not the aircraft, but a sick passenger around you.
