Comical Video: Two Lawyers Fight Over Armrest

Matthew Klint Posted onFebruary 10, 2017November 14, 2023 4 Comments

Two passengers, both who claim to be lawyers (I have my doubts) were caught on video fighting over an armrest on a flight to Spain.

Start with the video–

This occurred on a Monarch Airways flight from London Gatwick to Malaga, Spain. The words are a bit difficult to make out at points, but the fight was over an armrest. The man says–

We are arguing over an armrest. Relocate her; I’m not going anywhere.

He later states–

I paid for this seat. The woman is obnoxious and rude. I’m not moving anywhere, anywhere at all.

Meanwhile she demands that the man be removed or she will sue because 1.) she is a lawyer and 2.) he shoved her. The man’s defense: how could I shove you when I was sleeping? He also adds, “I’m a lawyer too, you stupid woman.”

FAs try to defuse the situation and at one point ask if the couple is traveling together.

Both loudly proclaimed, “NO!” promoting passengers to respond with cheers and applause.

No one was removed. The pair were separated: the man sat in the back and woman in front. The flight arrived in Malaga safely.

Perhaps the passengers should have used their Priority Pass card to check out the new restaurant option at LGW instead. It may have diffused tensions.

Maybe the guy just had watched this before his flight and thought it would actually work:

Appreciate the correction. That post went up far too fast yesterday afternoon. I had an appointment I was late for but still should have taken three more minutes to proofread it…
