Lufthansa Easter Duck 2022, A First Class Terminal Souvenir

I flew home via Frankfurt in Lufthansa First Class for Easter, which allowed me to add another special edition duck to my collection.

Lufthansa Easter Duck 2022

Lufthansa offers rubber ducks to passengers utilizing its first class lounge facilities. While a duck may not seem related to a German airline with a crane as its logo, it has become part of the first class ground experience.

During the pandemic, I took a trip to Germany just to pick up a duck. For Christmas, I returned for a special Christmas duck (though it did not work out).

Here, I wasn’t even thinking about the duck – just getting home. Award space was actually extremely limited, with many Europeans or American Expats traveling to the USA for Passover or Easter.

In terms of product review, I would have preferred flying via Casablanca on a Royal Air Maroc 787-9 or via Copenhagen on SAS to review an A350 or A321 for the transatlantic crossing.

But Lufthansa opened and Lufthansa never gets old. For the small marginal cost over business class in terms of miles, it is always worthwhile.

And then it dawned on me. It was Easter week. There would be a special duck!

Arriving in the First Class Terminal, my host promised a “limited edition” duck before I could even bring it up. As I sat down to dine, he brought it over.

The terminal was beautifully decorated.

And let me add the Lufthansa First Class ground service remains a lovey experience, with delicious food and drinks and chauffeur service to the plane. I can’t wait to return…it did flood me with sadness again that I messed up my family Christmas trip.

Happy Easter everyone.

Fun! I still can’t believe I’ve never made it to the FCT. My inevitable first duck will probably become my most prized possession.

I skipped the filet because I saw it was on the menu for my flight. Big mistake. Enjoy it in the lounge.

Planning to renew Hyatt globalist this year?
A stay at the Four Season and a First class flight cost spent in a Hyatt would get you close to the minimum spent requirement, isn’t it?

      Not sure–it will be difficult.

Best option is to book a great relocate stay (29 night min). The discount can go as far as 70%Off

Matthew, the duck is cute story and my cat has a basket of them from the FRA FCT (never got an Easter duck though). If people have not been there, they don’t get it. It’s an unbelievable place to chill, never crowded and they understand what service really is, The Porsche or S-Class ride around the airport right to the door is special especially if you have ever walked around FRA and then had to board a bus for a ride around the tarmac to your plane. Several times car took me to the aircraft and as we walked on they closed the door and plane started to taxi. Would be interesting if UA would do a Senator type lounge for 1K/GS vs United Club but I guess I can dream.
