A woman was removed from the airport after a racist, profanity-laced tirade against a Southwest Airlines employee over an overweight baggage issue at the check-in counter. The most scary thing? Her two young children were standing right beside her…
Racist Rant Leads To Arrest At Southwest Airlines Check-In Counter Over Overweight Baggage
A woman was traveling with her two young children (and her dog…) on Southwest Airlines from Indianapolis (IND) to Las Vegas (LAS). While checking in, she was informed that her checked bag was five pounds overweight (Southwest allows 50 pounds). Rather than try to move things around or ask for mercy, she got upset…
“Go ahead and be a f*****g c**t. Stupid a** f*****g n****r a*s b***h. I need to get on my flight.”
Girl, you’re not getting on the flight that way.
She tries to be nice (“‘Look ma’am I have two small children and a dog, my child came here for a very important surgery that he couldn’t have, I really need help.”), but it’s too late…police were called, gave her several verbal warnings to stop, and then arrested her. She now faces charges of disorderly conduct and resisting law enforcement…and probably a ban on future Southwest Airlines travel as well.
A police report detailed:
Wyatt continued pulling her arms away and began to drop her weight, trying to fall to the ground while officers were attempting to put her arms behind her back. Wyatt continuously screamed obscenities at officers and yelled loudly throughout the entire encounter.
Here’s the video:

I feel very bad for the Southwest Airlines employee–no one should have to endure that verbal abuse–but I feel worse for the children of the woman, who were standing beside their mother and do not even look all that bothered…it’s as if mommy always talks that way.
Edited To Add: I see View From The Wing also wrote about this. I think he’s 100% correct in pointing out that when she says she works for a law firm, what she means (but may not know) is 1.) she won’t be working there long and 2.) she’s not a lawyer.
I also quite agree with his advice that the way you get help from someone is not to demand it in an entitled way or (as this woman did) be a condescending, racist, jerk…but to ask for it gently: to plead for it.
What a sad story…

No excuse for her behavior….but at least something positive is going to come out of it for her.
“ and probably a ban on future Southwest Airlines travel as well.”
All joking aside, is it time for reciprocal banning between airlines? I know it opens up interpretation to how serious an issue was but air travel is a privilege, not a right and some people give that privilege up with their actions. Why should Delta provide a service to someone SW refuses to?
I’m still against such reciprocal bans.
I too am against allowing airlines to collude to create blacklists.
I almost always agree with you but not on this one. Using the same logic you should be perfectly willing to interact with a violent convicted felon because you wouldn’t want to collude to make them feel badly.
Being nice, friendly and understanding with check-in, gate and lounge agents has done me wonders when my travel plans get messed up or when I’ve messed up on the travel plans. Going around with hostility and demands would have left me far worse off in terms of time and money.
I don’t get it. People are moronic to act this way. I have a small luggage scale at home. I always weight by bags if I plan to check them. I don’t want to have interactions with anyone at airpots since it is usually not a pleasant situation. Do your job, act like a normal person and your travel will always end up well.
She may work in a law firm but has a poor understanding of the legal system. Her problem is too small for litigation. Besides, the airline’s litigation budget far exceeds hers. The way out is settlement. That settlement is to get the ticket counter employees to help you. Or wear some clothes or redistribute some things in another bag.
Absolutely. Moving a couple of pounds would probably have done it. But nothing will solve this situation at this point.
I used to tell my agents that this is not a hostage situation – the customer will not hold us hostage. No need to get upset back at them – you’re the one who will be sleeping at home in your own bed and they will be the ones sleeping on that airport bench or in a jail cell as a reward for their behavior. There are three courses of action: What I have to do (policy – 50.1 lbs is overweight), what I can do (discretionary latitude, like allowing a couple extra pounds), and what I’m going to do (depends on customer’s attitude).
Doubt she works at all
Her neck tattoos alone show that this is not the first instance of bad judgment in her life.
Yup.
Bingo! Another thirteener showing their culture.
You mentioned that she went on a tirade, and then tries to be nice. But based on the video, it seemed like she was trying to get help first, but the staff wasn’t very helpful and walked away before she went off the rails. Not excusing her behavior and she could have planned better with the luggage. But it seems to me that the staff wasn’t 100% blameless.
What exactly is the staff to blame for? Packing her bag? Enforcing the rules? I’m just curious what staff would have to do to deserve the following rant: “Stupid a** f*****g n****r a*s b***h”
The fact that someone is filming almost certainly means there was something pretty significant going on prior to this. Als0, note that all of the agents are silent. This would likely be a result of them telling her that, due to her behavior/language, they are done communicating with her.
Why the hell would you bring a dog with you if your son is going for surgery?
If the surgery was so important why did she bring a dog and another kid?
Sally, this is the $64-thousand question.
It was the kind of surgery that you have to go all the way to Vegas for.
To Indianapolis for, which makes me think it wasn’t augmentation-related…
A friend taught me years ago (who is a very successful real estate agent) to ‘kill them with kindness, even when it hurts’. That advice has never failed me.
The heartbreaking part is her children were subjected to their mother’s racist, abusive tirade. I feel for the children. They don’t deserve that. Very sad to say the least.
Zionists took their children to block food aide from entering Gaza. White supremacists see no problem in dragging their kids along for their vile actions.
This is how children learn and now they have learn the consequences of inappropriate behavior
A few years ago my son and I bet on who could lose the most weight before we reunited in Phoenix. My wife and I were flying to AZ.
At the airport we were flying out of, few peoplel remained after we checked our bags. Wanting to check my weight, I stepped on several different airlines scales. My weight fluctuated a good 7lbs between them. They all showed varying weights.
It was crystal clear to me that the airlines were not accurate in their weigh-ins and many people had probably paid an inflated price courtesy of Wilbur and Orville’s cohorts. Homeland Security should spend a little more time calibrating scales and a little less time frisking at their pleasure.”
You can take the girl out the trailer park…
