United Airlines has unveiled its beautiful new Polaris Lounge in Los Angeles. The pictures suggest it was worth the wait!
Before we get to the pictures, here’s some key facts about the new lounge:
- More than 12,000 square feet
- 140 seats, with a variety of seating areas for productivity, privacy and dining
- 272 power outlets and 120 USB ports
- Luxurious shower suites, featuring rainfall showerheads and Soho House & Co’s Cowshed Spa products
- Private daybeds outfitted with Saks Fifth Avenue bedding
- A full restaurant-quality experience in The Dining Room. With a menu that blends international comfort foods developed by Los Angeles native Chef Tritia Gestuvo, highlights include: almond-crusted fish and chips, chilaquiles, Korean bulgogi arancini, fresh crafted sandwiches on La Brea Bakery® bread, flavorful street tacos and house-made cinnamon churros.
- In a nod to the innovative cocktail culture of Los Angeles, the lounge features signature cocktails inspired by the City of Stars, including the Let’s Rumble, made from Cruso Spiced Rum, fresh lemon, prickly pear puree and house-made simple syrup and the On Sunset, a playful take on the tequila sunrise, made from Casa Noble Tequila, Del Maguey Single Village Mezcal and agave nectar.
Street tacos, La Brea bread, and chilaquiles??!!

CONCLUSION
I was supposed to actually be in the lounge today for a media preview, but remain in Europe…I will check out the lounge soon and bring you a full review.
Is this just a preview or is it actually open?
If a preview, when is the planned date for opening?
It opens Saturday to everyone.
Nice looking lounge – menu items described here seem less filling / elegant than those at EWR / ORD / SFO – more Centurion Lounge fare than int’l premium cabin.
Sounds like the menu is mostly tacos / sandwiches for the ‘mains’ outside of the fish / chips, which is well…a creative interpretation of pub fare.
Flagship First at LAX serves a proper filet mignon and trout.
Hopefully the actual full menu is more substantial and refined than what’s in the press spin, and not a signal of budget cuts after a strong launch of other Polaris lounges.
But then again the reviews of execution of the dishes for AA Flagship First dining at LAX aren’t resounding….
And the steak isn’t that great at AA.
Will you attend press preview? Or have plans to review the lounge soon?
Would like to see your own photos, like you’ve done other Polaris lounges, instead of the press release photos. And if you’re able to get a floorplan for the lounge that would be great: just curious what the setup is like compared to old UA clubs in same space before.
The place looks great. Hope to be able to try it soon.
I’ll be going soon. Next week at the latest.
Funny that I’m going to beat you to a review of a Polaris lounge… 🙂
Well I would have been there today if I wasn’t trapped here in Holland. 😉
Looks great. I hope they keep the cocktail game strong. I am very disappointed at the United Club at LAX. When they opened 2 years ago, they had an impressive offering of craft cocktails that, while full priced, were decent. When I returned a year later they menu had gone largely ignored. The bartenders had no idea how to make the drinks and they were out of half of the ingredients.
