Flying Blue Promo Awards for January 2015

Matthew Klint Posted onJanuary 8, 2015December 5, 2016 Leave a Comment

Each month Air France / KLM Flying Blue offer Promo Awards and I have highlighted the value of these awards on many occasions. While the January 2015 promotion is modest, Canadian travelers have a great opportunity to save on business class travel to Europe.

Business class awards to/from Europe (and Tel Aviv) are 50% off from Montreal and Toronto and award space is exceptional — there is enough space for the entire family on several days. That means a round-trip ticket is only 62,500 miles plus taxes/fees of about $600. Flying Blue is an American Express transfer partner.

Economy class travel to/from Houston is the only other North American discount — at 25% off or 37,500 miles r/t and about $200 in taxes/fees.

Looking at the promotions to other regions, the only other noteworthy deal is flights between Europe and Ho Chi Minh City at 100,000 miles r/t, half price in business class.

To take advantage of this promotion, bookings must be made by 31 January 2015 for travel between 01 March and 30 April 2015. Remember that no cancellations or refunds are permitted on these awards and they can only be booked online at flyingblue.com.

I was hoping for more lucrative offers from more cities for travel during the early spring season, but at least there are still a few options worthy of consideration.
