Wizz Air has teamed up with Romanian pop star INNA for a Wizz Air-themed summer song called “Wizz Away.” I have no idea who INNA is, but the song is actually catchy and the marketing move is at least more memorable than another fare sale…though I’d think the budget carrier would want to place its upcoming Starlink Wi-Fi as front and center of any ad campaign?
Wizz Air Releases Its Own Pop Song With INNA Days After Announcing Starlink Wi-FI Onboard
Wizz Air has released a branded summer anthem with European pop singer INNA, called “Wizz Away.”
INNA, whose real name is Elena Alexandra Apostoleanu, is a Romanian singer best known for her 2008 hit “Hot.” I will confess that I had no idea who she was before this story, though I am not exactly up to date on American pop singers either, so that may say more about me than her.
The song was released on June 12, 2026, with a music video filmed in front of a Wizz Air aircraft at Bucharest Otopeni Airport. Wizz Air describes it as a “feel-good summer anthem” inspired by spontaneous travel, and that is exactly what it sounds like.
Is this a masterpiece? No.
Is it kind of catchy? Sure, I’ll grant you that.
And in fairness to Wizz Air, the campaign makes sense. Low-cost carriers live on impulse travel and cheap fares, but a short, upbeat travel song may do that better than yet another email blast about flights from €19.99.
Still, I find the timing interesting because Wizz Air has something far more substantive to promote: Starlink Wi-Fi.
Just days before the INNA campaign, Wizz Air announced plans to roll out Starlink connectivity across its fleet beginning in 2027. With this move, Wizz Air would become the first European ultra-low-cost carrier to offer Starlink-powered inflight internet.
As a consumer who has found Starlink internet absolutely game-changing on every flight I have experienced it, this strikes me was a huge value-add for a budget carrier. Ryanair has long resisted inflight Wi-Fi, and easyJet has not exactly raced to turn its aircraft into connected workspaces either. If Wizz Air can offer fast, reliable internet onboard while still keeping fares low, that would be a serious differentiator…what better way to pass the time on those uncomfortable planes?
So while “Wizz Away” is cute, I would think Wizz Air would be shouting much louder about Starlink Wi-Fi. A catchy pop song is fun. Fast internet on a budget carrier is a real competitive weapon.
Maybe a song about that? But what do I know?
Maybe the point is not either-or. Maybe the song gets the brand attention, and Starlink later gives passengers a reason to take the airline more seriously.
CONCLUSION
Wizz Air has released a branded summer song with Romanian pop star INNA called “Wizz Away,” and it’s catchy indeed…
I still think Wizz Air’s upcoming Starlink Wi-Fi is a bigger story than a pop anthem. Becoming the first European ultra-low-cost carrier to roll out Starlink across the fleet could actually set Wizz Air apart from Ryanair and easyJet.
But as airline marketing stunts go, this one is harmless and cheerful.

Ah, an endorsement of the carry-on-only philosophy… niccce.
