Frequent Traveler University (FTU) is coming to Las Vegas later this month and there is still time attend this event if you have not already signed up. From April 29 through May 01, 2016 you can hang out in the (other) city that never sleeps with people who eat, sleep, and drink miles, points, and manufactured spending.

The event includes a number of well-regarded bloggers in the realm of loyalty travel:

— Ben Schlappig (One Mile at a Time)
— René de Lambert (Renés Points)
— Tahsir Ahsan (Bengali Miles Guru)
— Tiffany Funk (One Mile at a Time)
— Jamie Larounis (The Forward Cabin)
— Greg Davis-Kean (Frequent Miler)
— Edward Pizzarello (Pizza in Motion)
— Omar Zaman (Travel Summary)
— Daraius Dubash (Million Mile Secrets)
— Summer Hull (Mommy Points)
— Matthew Klint (Live and Let’s Fly)
— Scott Mackenzie (Travel Codex)

I will be speaking on topics including United Airlines, Star Alliance, Lufthansa Miles & More, Expert Flyer, and traveling in Europe.

Other topics include:

— Award Booking on United Airlines and American Airlines
— Award Booking on Other Airlines (Delta, Alaska, Avios, and more)
— Getting Started with Miles and Points
— Using KVS Tool & Expert Flyer to Search for Fares and Availability (fare construction)
— What is it like to live in hotels full time?
— Finding Cheap Premium Fares
— Maximizing Miles + Points Credit Cards
— Introduction to Mileage Running: Costs and Benefits
— International Upgrade Methods and Strategies
— Using ExpertFlyer
— Live Award Bookings
— Advanced booking techniques for revenue tickets
— Non-traditional awards and miles

The event begins with a cocktail reception and optional charity blackjack event on April 29th and continues through Sunday afternoon. A special manufactured spending “boot camp” is already sold out, but MS will be a popular subject throughout the event.

The cost to attend is $199 and you can register for the event here.

FTU will take place at the D Hotel in Downtown Las Vegas. Rooms are $99/night on Friday and saturday and $29/night on the Thursday prior to the event or the Sunday after. There is an annoying $20 resort fee.

People ask me if this is really worth it and my answer remains the same — most things we discuss you can find yourself online on various blogs or Flyertalk, but being in a “classroom” and being able to ask questions and enjoy one-on-one conversations with others sharing a similar interest is actually pretty special and makes the event worthwhile.

I always have a fun time meeting readers and clients at FTUs and I hope to see many of you in Las Vegas later this month.
