My Award Trip is Booked

Matthew Klint Posted onJuly 25, 2010 Leave a Comment

An update on my award trip: it is booked. I called back UA and ticketed it without any hassle. I don’t know if there are any damaging notes on the reservation that will prevent me from making changes when space on LX or LH opens up, but the agent who booked the ticket certainly didn’t stumble across any and even read me back my itinerary.

This puts me between a rock and a hard place. Although the itinerary is adequate, I just cannot justify spending any miles for first class travel on United, especially two transatlantic trips. If I am not allowed to modify the reservation at all, I may have to cancel it and lose my first class seat on Turkish Airlines.

Anyway, I am sitting at the bus station right now in Buenos Aires after an overnight trip from Iguazu in "first class." More on that later. I’m off to the Park Hyatt to check-in and hope to provide a few more udpates and reply to my recent comments later in the day.
