LAX just lost two Priority Pass restaurants, but has bounced back with a new one.
Last month Campanile, in Terminal 4, left the Priority Pass program after a disastrous debut. Earlier this month, Priority Pass announced that Barney’s Beanery, in Terminal 2, would leave the program effective November 30, 2018. In terms of restaurants, that left only P.F. Chang in the Tom Bradley International Terminal as well as three lounges in other terminals.
But Rock & Brews has been added as a new Priority Pass Restaurant in Terminal 1. Since the US Airways lounge in T1 closed several years ago, the terminal has been left without any lounge option (let alone Priority Pass). The addition of Rock & Brews is a great benefit to Southwest Airlines flyers, as the airline exclusively operates from T1 at LAX. T1 is also not connected to any of the other terminals, so those traveling on Southwest will finally have a way to use their Priority Pass membership at LAX.
The menu honestly looks quite impressive and the restaurant has its own beer menu. Your Priority Pass membership gives you $28/person credit at the restaurant. The credit is valid toward any food/drink plus taxes, but does not include gratuity. You’ll notice that this restaurant is more on the expensive side, but your credit should still cover one entree and one drink. Note that the Priority Pass credit does not cover “To-Go” and “Grab and Go” orders.
As I always say when I write about Priority Pass restaurants, please tip. As much as I personally loathe tipping, it is an inextricable part of the American culture and restaurant workers depend upon tips to survive.
CONCLUSION
I hope that this new Priority Pass restaurant at LAX will make it longer than Campanile or Barney’s Beanery. But just in case, enjoy it while it lasts. I may not be back at LAX again this year, but will review it next time I have a bit of time before or after my flight.
I think PP tries to limit usage by disallowing to go orders. At multiple restaurants they won’t accept PP for to go orders but they will allow you to sit down and bring you a box as soon as the food comes. Of course, now you have a server to tip.
I just raised a fist in jubilation. Southwest has the best flights for where I travel so I’m always in Terminal 1. Previously I never could get my priority pass out of the wallet at LAX.

Don’t you think they’d HAVE to limit “to go” orders? If not, they’d probably be overrun with orders…and the waitstaff would just be sitting around. And yes, of course, you have to tip — it’s a SMALL price to pay relative to what you’re getting.
Ate there this morning – horrible! Tipped the waitress 20% ($50 bill) as it’s not her fault the place is rubbish!
What did you order?
The PP website does not mention that this restaurant does not accept to-go orders for the PP credit; is this limitation imposed by the restaurant itself? (Both restaurants at SFO T3 have no problem with to-go orders for PP cardholders.)
