TSA Spots Concealed Knife in Carry-On Bag at Newark Airport!

Matthew Klint Posted onOctober 31, 2011 1 Comment

Stop the presses! Stop the presses! The Wall Street Journal brings us this groundbeaking accomplishment of the Transportation Security Administration (TSA):

NEWARK, N.J. — A Transportation Security Administration screener at a New Jersey airport spotted a knife concealed in a carry-on bag.

The TSA says the screener was operating the X-ray machine at a security checkpoint at Newark-Liberty International Airport on Sunday when the screener saw the knife in the zippered pocket where the bag’s handle is stored.

The bag belonged to a passenger from New York who was boarding a flight to Atlanta.

Port Authority police confiscated the knife.

Wow! I cannot believe it. The TSA actually found a knife in someone’s bag! Who would have imagined that? Thank goodness for our cutting-edge x-ray baggage scanners [now enetering their third decade of service]. That knife could have brought down an airplane you know.

Gee, I am so happy the TSA is keeping us safe. And equally happy the Wall Street Journal is letting us know how hard our brave men and women on the front lines at U.S. airports are toiling in the name of freedom.

LOL! The WSJ actually wrote an article about that? I’ve had a knife confiscated before.
