A computer issue Here’s the official ground stop verbiage:

And here’s an FAA advisory—

Due to AIRLINE REQUEST / COMPUTER ISSUE, there is a Traffic Management Program in effect for traffic arriving George Bush Intercontinental/Houston Airport, Houston, TX (IAH). To see if you may be affected, select your departure airport and check “Delays by Destination”.

Hopefully this is resolved quickly.

For those on the ground at Houston, feel free to chime in here with updates.

If your travel plans are disrupted, see if you are able to re-book yourself on the United app. If not, call United while you are waiting in line to speak to a customer service agent. Even better, consider a United club pass.

I heard it had something to do with the phones not working at UA Operations. A friend was on a delayed flight and that’s what the pilot announced.
