United Airlines’ next Polaris lounge will open on April 30, 2018 at San Francisco International Airport (SFO).
The two-level, 28,000-square-foot lounge will include an a la carte dining area, buffet, sleeping/rest area, showers, and of course ample seating and work space.
Signature California elements are featured throughout, including locally inspired food and beverages, a wine and sushi station and a viewing area where customers can use binoculars to take in sweeping views of the Bay Area and the airport.
Who Has Access?
Access to the new Polaris Lounge will be strictly limited to longhaul, premium cabin passengers, including:
- Customers traveling in United Polaris business class or United Polaris Global first class on long-haul international flights (departure and arrival, even if your longhaul flight is not to/from SFO)
- Customers traveling in international first or business class cabins on Star Alliance partner airlines from SFO
Note, Star Alliance Gold members traveling in economy class will NOT have access. This is the same as Chicago. I’m double checking to confirm, but I doubt Air Canada business class passengers will be granted access: rather only for longhaul flights (even though transborder flights to Canada are technically international).
CONCLUSION
I’m excited to see a specific date for the new lounge opening. United has also promised new lounges in Newark, Houston, and Los Angeles later this year. All of us who fly United regularly simply say, “It’s about time!”
You fly United regularly???
Why? For me they are the last resort… ha.
Will never see the inside as i’m not a premium passenger on them!!!EVER
Looks like I won’t get access for my HNL to EWR flight? (have a stop in SFO). Do you think they’ll put the newly configured 777-200 on the hnl to sfo route?
Nope, unfortunately you would not have access.
I see IAD has dropped off the list.
