First Class Breakfast on Qatar Airways A380

Matthew Klint Posted onOctober 31, 2024October 31, 2024 3 Comments

Each week, my Meal of the Week feature examines an airline meal from my travels over the years. This may be a meal from earlier in the week or it may be a meal served over a decade ago.

Qatar Airways only offers first class on its fleet of A380 aircraft, with flights to London, Paris, Bangkok, Perth and Sydney. A few years back, I had the chance to fly from Doha to Paris in first class on a morning flight. My Meal of the Week post this week recalls breakfast onboard.

Although the Qatar A380 First Class seat is not all that private, it is very comfortable and perfect for a westbound daytime flight. Like business class, meal service is on-demand and available throughout the flight. Since the flight left at 7:25a, I had breakfast after takeoff.

Service began with a delicious warm croissant and a bowl of Bircher Muesli with berries. I also ordered a smoothie and cappuccino.

a bowl of oatmeal with berries

a cup of coffee with a spoon and a packet on a tray a croissant on a plate next to a knife and butter

Of course no first class flight on Qatar would be complete without the “obligatory” glass of Krug champagne. When the FAs saw I was photogprahjng my food, they left the bottle on my tray table.

For the main course, I ordered a cheese omelet. A simple but delicious breakfast served with a small beef medallion, cooked tomato, and hash brown. I particularly appreciated the French butter and mustard to go along with the meal.

Not pictured: fresh orange juice, which I enjoyed with the second meal.

CONCLUSION

Breakfast does not have to be fancy to be delicious. This was a simple breakfast much like I have at home, but very enjoyable. You can read my full review of the flight here.
