United Airlines will add 11 additional domestic/Canadian routes next summer on top of the recently announced addition of 22 new domestic and four international routes.
Focusing on growth in Chicago O’Hare, Houston, Los Angeles, and Washington Dulles, the routes below will be begin in June 2019 unless otherwise noted.
Chicago to Colorado, Florida, Oregon and Halifax, Nova Scotia
Houston to Durango, Colorado and Ontario, California
It’s nice to see the Ontario – Houston route return. Even in the darkest days of the recession, Continental/United maintained mainline service to ONT. Perhaps, one day, mainline service will return again (as it did for Burbank).
Los Angles to Stockton, California
The new twice-daily Stockton service will begin on August 20, 2019.
Washington Dulles to Traverse City, Michigan
Typically when these announcements are made there is also new of route cuts. Thus far, I have not received any word about any subtractions from the network that will balance out these additions.

CONCLUSION
More routes lead to more choices for consumers and lower prices. While nothing shocking, these new routes are a nice addition to the North American network. The new Chicago to Halifax service reminds me that I hope to finally get to Nova Scotia next summer.

But, these are all Barbie jets. No thanks!
Although it’s nice to have air service from Carlsbad again (California Pacific), I wonder if UA ever thought about service again via Denver. With the economic demographics of Northern San Diego County, I’m sure it would be well supported. Maybe my wife and I would be 1k’s again.
The IAH-ONT times are horrible. I don’t want to take a 3 hour red-eye.
@ Matthew — I want LAX-ATL!
So do I!
Want to go hear Jimmy Carter’s Sunday School class while he is still alive.
I’m thrilled United is adding more hub service from DRO! My home airport for 8 years and this will make it much easier to visit family.
Any route expansion for this LAX-based UA traveler is welcome news, but I really don’t understand UA launching LAX-MAD when it seems there would be more demand for bringing back LAX-MIA/FLL, LAX-MSY and LAX-PHL!
OOPS! That should have been MSN (Madison, WI), not “MAD!”
Too bad it’s not MAD! 😉
Disappointed that ORD-YEG (Edmonton) has yet to be restored. Would be nice to have another transit option other than YYZ (Toronto) or MSP to go between Edmonton and the U.S. east coast.
