Not only did I check out the new United Club in B East, but I also checked out the beautiful new United Club in A West while in Denver. The new lounge buttresses United’s growing presence in the A Concourse and provides a welcome respite without having to change terminals.
United Club Denver A West Review (DEN)
I visited this lounge during a recent trip home from Newark, deliberately flying via Denver rather than nonstop just to check out the two United Clubs that have recently opened at United’s most profitable hub.
This was the lounge I took a hard hat tour on a few month back.

Access + Hours + Location
The lounge is located next to Gate A25 in the A Concourse. It is open daily from 5:00 am to 9:30 pm. Take the escalator up to the lounge.
You can gain access to the lounge by scanning your boarding pass in the automated turnstile or by speaking to an agent if you are using a one-time pass.
Access is reserved for United Club members, Chase United Club Visa holders, Star Alliance Gold travelers, and international business or first class passengers traveling on any Star Alliance flight.
Furthermore, one-time passes are accepted (unless the lounge is very crowded). These are distributed to Chase MileagePlus Explorer credit card holders or can be purchased at the door for $59. Note that if you hold a Star Alliance Gold card from United Airlines (Premier Gold or higher), you can only access the lounge when traveling in conjunction with an international itinerary.
Those who have a Star Gold card from other programs can use the lounge when traveling on any Star Alliance flight in any class of service. Also note that from DEN, United does not give premium cabin passengers access on domestic flights without status.
Global Services passengers are also allowed complimentary entrance.
Seating
At 5:30pm, this lounge was not crowded. It was not empty either, but there was a lot of seating available and some of the lounge corners were totally empty.
The lounge is 24,000 square feet with seating for 400 across two levels of club space.
Seating is spread out roughly equally over two levels, with a bar and buffet area on each level. The second floor (first floor of lounge) has booths, tables, and a gaming area.
The gaming room (with shuffleboard) featured a “Come Fly With Us” mural by Denver-based designer Adam Vicarel.
Speaking of art, there is also a sculptural installation from Colorado-based artist Amy Hoagland that uses glass rods to form a topographic-inspired piece that creates an optical illusion from different vantage points.
The top floor also has plenty including a whole section that was totally empty. When you think how crowded the lounges in Denver have historically been, this is really a huge deal.
While not as view-friendly as the new B East Lounge, some windows offer apron views outside.
Plugs are plentiful and include 110-volt, USB-A, and USB-C. The USB ports are optimized for fast charging of devices.
Restrooms
Restrooms are available on both floors, including individual unisex restrooms on the top floor and gendered restrooms on the ground floor.
Top floor restrooms:
There’s also a nursing room that even was well-stocked with diapers.
This lounge does not have showers.
Food + Drink
A wide variety of food and drinks are available on both levels of the lounge.
Food options included:
- Soups
- Vegetarian green chili
- Brasied red cabbage
- Macaroni & cheese
- Maple-mustard chicken thighs
- Red pepper rice
- Sautéed mixed vegetables
- Sandwiches
- ham
- turkey
- vegetarain
- Salads
- farro, butternut squash, kale salad with maple vinaigrette
- citrus fennel, dried cranberries salad with balsamic vinaigrette
- Cheese board
- Donut holes
- Cookies
- Brownies
There is a bar on both levels and also several hydration stations with water, coffee, tea, and soft drinks available.
CONCLUSION
United shows its commitment to the A Gates with this new lounge and did a wonderful job in creating a comfortable space with a respectable selection of food and drinks. Sure, I miss the barista (only available in the Club Fly Lounge), but this is a great new lounge and will make me much more likely to connect in Denver.
Lovely review! How did you access the lounge Matthew?
Chase Club Card.
My only complaint is that the music is too loud.
When I asked the front desk staff if it could be lowered they said that the city/airport authority controlled the volume which I found odd.
The woman I spoke to said that others had complained as well so hopefully United can address it.
What are “Donut hotels” and do they honor Globalist benefits? 🙂
