Qatar Airways Flight Turns Chaotic As Child Stabs Passenger With Fork Mid-Flight

As her mother slept, a child roamed the aisles of a Qatar Airways longhaul flight holding a metal fork and stabbed an unsuspecting passenger, prompting an outcry of pain.

Child Roams Cabin, Stabs Passenger With Fork on Qatar Airways — What Would You Do?

View From The Wing shares a story of a young girl jabbing another passenger with a metal fork (Qatar still uses “real” cutlery in economy class) on a Qatar Airways flight from Doha (DOH) to New York (JFK). That’s a 14-hour flight…long for anyone, but especially for children, even with a TV featuring thousands of hours of programming.

Per the account of passengers on board and seemingly verified by the video below, the girl was traveling with her sister and mother. As mom slept, the girl got up, prowled, and attacked a passenger seated in the center section a couple of rows back.

The female victim apparently let out a cry of pain and when the stabbing continued, she smacked the child (she said she did not, but later said she did). She then pulled off her shoe and prepared to smack the child again in order to ward her off while crying out for her help from a flight attendant.

She just randomly stabbed me with a fork! I almost slapped her. I’m gonna f*ck her up. She ran and hit me, stabbed me with the fork. I don’t know whose kid that is. You gotta’ get her. I’m gonna’ smack the s*it out of her.

The victim’s companion started filming, with audible snickering…did she think this was funny?

Crewmembers quickly arrived, with one removing the fork from the hand of the child and another trying to wake up the mother, who appeared in a deep sleep. Other passengers onboard said the mother was dismissive of the incident and did nothing to control her children, with her other child apparently having an outburst later in the flight.

As the father of two young children myself, this is a plea to monitor your own children! If I’m not working, I love to zone out on flights…it’s relaxing to put on noise-cancelling headphones and listen to music or watch a movie (the plane is the only place I watch movies or TV shows…though I made an exception for White Lotus!). But I could not do that when my kids were younger…they needed constant monitoring. Ignoring them is to your own peril…and the peril of other passengers.

I don’t blame the victim for smacking the child…it was a proportionate response.

CONCLUSION

A little girl stabbed another passenger with a fork on a Qatar Airways flight. The mother was sleeping and appeared indifferent when awakened. She failed to control her children and so I have a message to her: if you cannot control your kids, stay home. It’s one thing for a baby to cry due to altitude changes that hurt ears…it’s quite another to allow toddlers and older children to roam freely onboard and terrorize others.

To those parents who think their little delights can run freely and inflict pain on others: be prepared for them to be smacked by others because you failed to teach them well and discipline them consistently in the first place.

All children under 12 should be banned from flying (except for Augustine, whose dad taught him how to behave). All animals should be banned from flying. And the people who bring them aboard, namely women, should be banned from flying. Back to the UA Businessman Specials of the early 60s.

Maybe the Mom and her family need to be banned from travel.. Very bad incident. The Mom will probably try to sue the victim of the stabbing!

More potential terrorists trying to enter the US. And to think some of you complain about increased screening of foreigners from known hotbeds of terrorism.

Hopefully they were turned back as New York has enough of these potential, and in the case of this kid proven, risks to public safety.

this is what happens when parents try and be friends instead of being parents.

In the good old days when parents parented, that child would have been marched straight to the lav, had his pants pulled down and his ass would be on fire after getting belted

EXACTLY. I would add that it’s the inevitable result of the horrendous, laughable “time-out chair.” Just go to any supermarket in any affluent area to see how that’s working out. It’s no wonder we’re raising generations of kids with no respect for authority and no real consequences for bad actions.

World is nuts and some parents are pathetic. Hope they’re banned for life kids and mother. If mother fluffs this offence? Maybe a child services check up on the well being of her children is required? Self defence is self defence, does not matter the age. Charge the mother with assault and neglect of children under 10years. I’d smack her bitch little ass hard! ‍

OTH- how hard can a six year old stab you with a fork? Obviously this was an issue and the parents should have paid more attention but there has to be more to this…

Lucky this was on board a Qatari carrier.

If this was on any US based carrier starndard response. The plane would have diverted and the child arrested. Because the hypocrites wouldn’t let it slide just because it was a child right?

It would’ve been proportionate. The mother and child should be removed from the flight since they clearly pose a severe danger to others. Old enough to stab? Old enough to face the consequences of their potentially life-threatening actions.

I gotta give Matthew credit for coming up with the some of the strangest stories I’ve ever heard….a six year old stabber????

Neglected children can be prone to violence.
( A six year old stabbed police after they were called to remove a child . )

If a custodial parent cannot remain conscious to check on their children they are still responsible and should be held accountable.

I would’ve beat the hell out of that child. And then stabbed the parents.

Firstly, that child needs a good thrashing with the belt. Secondly, the mother needs one as well.

Maybe she stuck a fork in her to see if she was done?
